GREETING MESSAGE

Dear Participants,

It is our utmost honor and privilege to invite you to the 1th edition of the Serbian International Model NATO – SIM NATO 2013 which will be held in Belgrade between 11-15 November, 2013.

SIM NATO 2013 or how we like to call him 'The Summit' is based on six (6) different committees. Accordingly, through participating in SIM NATO 2013, delegates will be able to analyze and observe the way how different factors on a different scale are fundamentally interlinked at the global level, resulting in various consequences as to crime, disarmament, politics, defense, security, … that also define the specific contents of our respective committees.

Through a series of interactive exercises simulating the workings and internal decision-making procedures of world's biggest defense alliance, participants will have the opportunity to become acquainted with their specific missions, purpose and areas of competence. By focusing on key security and defense issues, particularly in crisis situations, these simulations will provide valuable insights into both the capabilities and constraints that shape the policies of international security actors, plus the forms of co-operation and conflict that increasingly characterize global politics.

Besides the professional part of the Summit we would like to ensure a memorable stay in Belgrade with different semi-formal and spare-time activities. During our session the delegations have an opportunity to know the capital of Serbia, also take part in a diplomat soiree and an official party, where they can meet each other and build international relations and friendships.

Not only that the Summit is a unique event in Serbia, but also the largest simulation of NATO' s decision-making process in the entire region. We expect around 500 participants, from more then 50 countries world wide, that will be engaged in debates upon SIM NATO 2013 central theme "Youth as part of the new political leadership for 21st century".

We will ensure that during your stay in Serbia you will have a supervisor for each delegation. Their duty will be to lead and fulfill all the demands of a delegation during the whole Summit from the moment of landing until the moment of departure. They will be available at any time before and during the Summit; therefore the only thing that is left for the delegates is to enjoy the Summit.

We look forward to meeting you all in Belgrade. We are about to engage on a wonderful process of preparation, research and debate that will culminate in a fantastic experience in November.

Sincerely,

Organizing Team
