Development and International Cooperation

The Master’s Degree Programme in Development and International Cooperation seeks to provide graduates with intellectual tools and practical skills required to function creatively and effectively in the multi-faceted and contradictory world of international development cooperation.
Application Period The next application period is from December 2nd 2013 to January 15th 2014
Degrees Awarded Students are awarded one of the following Master’s degrees, depending on their major subject area:
  • Master of Social Science, with a specialisation in Development and International Cooperation (Major Subject: Philosophy, Political Science, Social and Public Policy or Sociology)
  • Master of Arts, with a specialisation in Development and International Cooperation (Major Subject: Education or Ethnology)
Major Subjects Education, Ethnology, Philosophy, Political Science, Social and Public Policy or Sociology.
Credits 120 ECTS credits
Duration of Full-time Study 2 years
Language English is the sole language of instruction and student work.
Start Date September 2014
Tuition Fee None*
Entry Requirements A University Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, proven proficiency in English and commitment to working for positive social change.
* Most of the higher education in Finland is free of charge as the Finnish government supports the universities and their educational programmes. The government wants to invest in the education of both Finnish and international students by providing them with high class education without tuition fee.
