Because of coming changes in the Executive Board of IGLYO, we are now looking to co-opt a new Board Member for next year. The Board Member’s mandate would start on January 1^st 2014 and would run until December 31^st 2014.
If elected to the Board of IGLYO you will get a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of LGBTQ youth and student activism internationally, work in a motivated and inspiring team, get to help build capacities of our Member Organisations and young LGBTQ activists, learn and grow a lot yourself! This post will surely bring loads of good karma and a nice contribution to your CV.
A Board Member in IGLYO undertakes a broad range of tasks that vary due to the flexible nature of the work the organisation does. Such work can range from fundraising to project development and implementation, to looking into strategic actions in relation to the lobbying for LGBTQ youth issues in the pan-European region, and holding workshops. In January, specific board positions will be decided upon and you will have a chance to work in one area, in addition to general board responsibilities.
For a nomination to be valid, the candidate must fill the following criteria:

• Be between 18 and 30 years old
• Be officially nominated by a Member Organisation of IGLYO
• Provide all the required information in this form.

Additionally to the above criteria we urge candidates to consider other requirements that the position of the IGLYO Board Member entails:

• Ability to provide around 10 hours of work per week on average, mainly spent on writing e-mails (skills such as responsiveness are necessary!) and working on specific projects (e.g. organisation of a conference, filling in application forms, online Board meetings, etc.);
• Ability to work in English;
• Ability to travel once every two months on average (all travel and subsistence costs will be covered);
• Ability to work remotely as most of work will be carried out online.
