Announcing the Changemakers Festival Crowdfunding Challenge

Crowdfund Your Event for the Australia-wide Changemakers Festival this Spring

StartSomeGood and Social Innovation Xchange Australia are partnering up to give organisations and organisers around Australia the chance to raise funds to hold an event as part of the Changemakers Festival, Australia’s national celebration of social change, November 1-10.

The Changemakers Festival Crowdfunding Challenge is offering more than $5,000 in matching funds and fantastic support and exposure for your fundraising campaign.

Get Involved!

The festival is a celebration of the great work happening in our community, an exploration of the ideas, techniques and technologies that are driving this change, and an invitation for everyone to get involved in creating a better future for our communities and world. As a distributed festival it is made up of hundreds of events hosted by local organisations in every state and territory, including speakers events, meetups, startup weekends, webinars, workshops, conferences and more.

This is an invitation to organise an event for the Changemakers Festival and crowdfund it first on StartSomeGood.

FAQ:

Why are the deadlines for this so tight?
Because we want people to be able to run their campaigns, raise the funds they need and confirm their participation in the Changemakers Festival in November with enough time to be considered for inclusions in the printed Festival program. This means campaigns must finish by mid-September.

Do I have to be a non-profit to participate?
No. The Changemakers Festival (and StartSomeGood) is inclusive of non-profit organisations, for-profit social enterprises and local community groups. If you are making a positive difference in your community we’d love to support you!

When will I know if my event has been approved?
We will endeavour to respond to all submissions within 48 hours

Do I need to wait until August 21 to launch my campaign?
Nope! Once you’re approved for inclusion in the Changemakers Festival you can set up your campaign on StartSomeGood and launch as soon as you’re ready! You do need to finish your campaign by September 13 though, so the sooner you launch the more time you have.

Do events need to take place in Australia?
Yep.
