Do Better Challenge – Essay Competition

Deadline: August 14, 2013.
The 2013 Do Better Challenge Essay Competition is now open!
Last year we challenged One Young World Delegates to tell world leaders how they could do better. Delegates wrote letter-style essays to CEOs, politicians and other influential leaders highlighting a single problem and outlining a tangible solution.
This year, the winner of the Do Better Challenge will present their essay to the entire One Young World Summit as a Delegate Speaker and will also get a FREE Returning Ambassador spot for Dublin 2014 as well as having their essay published in a major news outlet.
The essay guidelines can be viewed HERE. Essays should be submitted to essay@oneyoungworld.com by midnight (BST) on August 14th.

• Social-oriented financial systems, the solution to the global crisis – Ulyana Shtybel
• Transitioning subsidies away from the fossil fuel industry – Parker Liautaud

The judging panel of Sir Bob Geldof, Fatima Bhutto, John Simpson and Kate Robertson unanimously found Namrata Poddar’s entry to be the winner. Her essay was published in the Huffington Post and presented at the 2012 Summit.
