FINANCIAL EDUCATION SERIES – INVITATION TO APPLY


Cape Town Activa, along with The Business Place eKapa, Cactus Advisors and the South African Business Resources Institute (SABRI), are getting together to offer a comprehensive six-week educational series on “Getting Investment Ready” to 15 Small and Medium Enterprises at no cost.
The course targets SMEs that have a desire to access new markets and capital, but have been operational for at least 12 months. It is expected that applicants have a clear understanding of the time and effort commitment required to attend the course.
“Getting Investment Ready” will start on Wednesday, 25 September 2013, and will run every Wednesday until 30 October 2013. It will cover a range of financial aspects from Financial Goals to Taxation.
The course will be presented by Zachariah George of Cactus Advisors.com, and held at Cape Town Activa’s offices.
Applications and Selection Criteria
To qualify to participate in this opportunity, please submit the following:
  • a one-page executive summary of your business
  • List of affiliations, memberships with any entrepreneurial organisations, business plan competition, awards won, plus any recognition that the business has received in the last
  • one to three years;
  • List of key mentors, advisors, experts that have assisted the business previously and currently; and
  • Indicate clearly that you are available to attend the entire course between 25 September and 30 October at the times indicated.

Zachariah George is a former Wall Street Investment Banking AVP from New York and Stanford University post-graduate in Finance. Since 2010, he has been based in Cape Town as a specialist business/financial advisor to senior management at corporations, investment funds and enterprise development institutions.
