Apply at Winter Programme on the United Nations and Global Challenges

The winter programme provides students with a unique opportunity to learn and think about major global challenges and how these are being addressed by the international community. Special attention will be paid to the role of the United Nations as a tool of global governance.
Emphasis on role-playing and social events also enables students to experience multiculturalism and global diversity firsthand. Students will gain knowledge of international challenges and build confidence to interact with people from different cultural backgrounds.

Application Process FOR SUMMER AND WINTER PROGRAMMES
The application procedure consists of 5 steps:
1. Create a personal user account
2. Activate your account by clicking the link in your e-mail
3. Complete the online application form
4. Wait for approval of your application
5. Pay the course fee by credit card or wire transfer
An application may be started at anytime and saved to be continued at a later time. Nevertheless it is important that you have the following information ready:
A 15-line essay that incorporate the following:
- Why you want to study in Geneva and why you are interested in this particular program
- How studying abroad will help you meet your academic, professional and personal goals
Two references other than friends or family (name, phone number, e-mail address). Contact details of someone who can provide an academic reference (e.g. tutor, academic advisor) should be provided, but it is not necessary to include a written reference letter.

Deadline AND EVALUATION
Programmes have 2 application deadlines : an First round deadline and a Second round deadline. We encourage students to complete their applications early to secure their place in the programme.
An academic evaluation is made by the Summer & Winter Programme Office to determine if the Programme provides an appropriate challenge for applying participants. You will receive an answer to your application:
within 2 weeks after the First round application deadline (by email)
within 2 weeks after the Second round application deadline (by email)
Upon acceptance, you will receive a formal letter of admission with invoice details for tuition fees.
Unfortunately, the Programme is unable to provide any financial assistance to candidates. However, we will be happy to provide a letter of reference to your sponsors or scholarship committee upon request, once accepted.
Eligibility
> Applicants must be undergraduates with an interest in international affairs;
> Applicants are expected to be proficient in English, although no certificate is required.
Deadlines
> First application round: deadline 15 September 2013
> Second application round: deadline 15 November 2013
