The Embassy of Denmark in Bangladesh wishes to recruit a Programme Officer with an academic background on a full time basis for development coorporation.

Educational requirements

Master’s degree from an internationally recognised – preferably foreign - university within development economics, environmental management, law, political science or similar disciplines.    

Job requirements

Programme Officer is an entry-level position. However 2 to 5 years of experience in the private or development sector would be preferable. Good communication and negotiation skills in English as well as Bangla.

Job description

Being an entry-point position Programme Officers can be assigned to duties at the Embassy ranging from sectorial work in the field of development cooperation, commercial cooperation to political analysis.    

At point of entry the Programme Officer will be attached to the Development Cooperation Team where the initial tasks will be to support the preparation of a new Green Growth Programme with particular emphasis on renewable energy and energy efficiency. In this context the Programme Officer will maintain liaison with relevant stakeholders in the sector, including GoB ministries and agencies, international organizations, the private sector and civil society organizations.

As part of the Development Cooperation Team the Programme Officer will participate in and contribute to the general tasks at the Embassy, incl. planning, reporting and various other assignments outside the Green Growth Programme.
